Durable Bulk Execution
Run hundreds of sends or writes in resumable shards that survive a session ending mid-list.
Works with: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Muse · Version 1.0.0 · Needs: A list and final content approved by you before anything runs, plus the target platform's rate limits checked first.
What you get
- Shard sizing that finishes comfortably inside one run, with margin for retries
- Per-item checkpoint file as the source of truth for what remains
- Idempotent operations — resuming never repeats a send or a write
- Stop conditions defined before starting: user stop, a complaint, or a failure-rate threshold
About this Skill
A hard-won operations skill: never run hundreds of items as one long background script. It shards work into bounded, scheduled jobs, checkpoints every item to a file, makes every operation idempotent so a resumed run skips what is done, and verifies completion from the checkpoint — not from a log that simply stopped.
Try it
/durable-bulk-execution Send this approved message to these 420 members in shards of 50, checkpointing every send.
Good fit
- Community operators sending to hundreds of members
- Anyone migrating, tagging or updating records in bulk
Not for
- Unapproved bulk outreach — approval must cover the full list and final text
- One-off jobs of a handful of items, where sharding is overhead
How to install

FAQ
Why not one long script?
A background child dies with its parent session. In the incident this skill is based on, a 499-item run stopped at item 79 with no error in the log.
How do I know it finished?
By reading the checkpoint: the batch is complete only when every id is checked off, not when a log goes quiet.
